It’s hard to perceive golf as innovative after all it’s been around for 500 years…more or less. It’s also hard to recognize golf innovation outside the technological changes of the equipment. In terms of golf course facility development however, RiverRidge is one of five facilities nationally (according to the National Golf Foundation) to have four distinctively different yet synergistically compatible products.

These products separately are not necessarily unique but the juxtaposition at one location is an innovative concept that allows the public to grow, develop and recreate in golf as individuals or as a family at any level of participation. The Driving Range; the Regulation 18 hole course; the Executive nine hole course and the Short course all together provide a uniqueness in innovation of design allowing Eugene/Springfield to offer yet one more amenity to our constituents as well as the traveling public.

The unconventional approach of the RiverRidge Golf Campus is a long term look at the promotion and development of golf. It encompasses an expectation of enjoyment at various levels of competence, the education and development opportunities rarely available to the public (outside private country clubs) and a safe place for families and children to gather. While no business can be everything to everyone, RiverRidge cutting edge approach extends a non threatening approach to the learning and enjoyment a lifetime sport.

On any given day, families with very young children can be found on the Par 3 ShortRidge where, other than common sense safety and course care, there are few rules except to have fun together. SuttonRidge offers new adult players and developing youth the next step in golfing beauty and challenge. RiverRidge is the “pappa” of the facility as a regulation golf course that can be played in just over four hours. The “glue” however is the driving range for practice, learning, lessons or just recreation. The entire campus is designed for public use and its uniqueness can be enjoyed by everyone.

A large part of the RiverRidge Business plan is event hosting. This includes corporate, private and fund raising groups who want a venue for use by as broad a range of participants a possible. Some participants are very active and experienced, some are quieter and more sedate. How extensive the participation is not limited be the facility but in enhanced by it.
