Juniors

Director of Instruction, Al Mundle

Al Mundle started teaching golf in 1957, and later worked under the tutelage of Bunny Mason, for many years ranked as one of the top teachers in the Northwest and on the Pacific Coast. As Director of Instruction, Al supervises a personally trained staff of instructors.

In 1986, 2000 and 2002, Al was named the Pacific Northwest Section Teacher of the Year, and has been listed by Golf Digest as #2 teacher in the state of Oregon. He was inducted into the Pacific Northwest Section PGA Hall of Fame in 1989.

The School Philosophy

Through his years of instructing golfers, Al has developed an approach that involves "teaching and coaching". With this Philosophy the school instructors teach fundamentals of set-up (pre shot routine, grip, stance, posture, alignment and ball position) as well as teaching the swing motion. Then the staff coaches the students as they improve their swings and learn to "take it to the course".

Through RiverRidge's graduating golf course opportunities, the juniors will be exposed to competition as well as etiquette and the rules of the game. They will participate in the routines of the golf course, elevating their comfort levels and increasing their appreciation of the game. Our goal is to get the Juniors playing the game early, develop friendships and play the game of golf forever.
